Other Fun Things to do in Gainesville

Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park
The Preserve encompasses over 22,000 acres of recreational opportunities to enjoy as the weather cools this time of year; everything from an air conditioned, staffed Visitor Center with displays and excellent video of the beauty of the preserve, to cycling, walking, equestrian trails, camping, picnicking, wildlife viewing, and boat ramp access to Lake Wauberg.

Kanapaha Botanical Gardens
Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is a 62 acre facility comprised of 24 major collections. These include Florida's largest public display of bamboos and the largest herb garden in the Southeast.

Ichetucknee Springs State Park
In addition to tubing, visitors can enjoy picnicking, snorkeling, canoeing, swimming, hiking, and wildlife viewing. White-tailed deer, raccoons, wild turkeys, wood ducks and great blue herons can be seen from the river. Picnic areas, equipped with tables and grills, are available throughout the park.

Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art
One of the largest university-affiliated art museums in the United States, the Harn Museum has an 86,800-square-foot facility, which includes 32,800 square feet of exhibition space. More than 8,000 works are represented in the museum's various collections, which include photography and Asian, African, modern and contemporary art.
